I flew my way up to Korin’s tower to meet an old friend. I made sure to bring him a bottle of the most fancy milk wine I could find. One of the things I wanted to do before was to try and grow senzu beans off the tower but it was always a thought in the back of my mind. I was too focused on training and getting stronger to try it but now I had far more time to cultivate them.

“Evening Korin. How’s it going?” The cat must have sensed me coming. “That’s a face I haven’t seen in a long time. Roshi, I can’t believe you used the dragon balls on a wish like that.” I couldn’t deny that it was a very selfish wish, something I didn’t see myself doing normally. If the fate of the planet wasn’t at stake I would have just kept to my dirty magazines. I could sense it though, something big was coming in the next twenty years.

“We can all sense it. Kami had the same plan as you but he would have had to find a workaround for using his own magic to reverse his aging.” That made me pause for a moment. The dragon balls were clearly magical but what did that mean exactly? They functioned on a set of rules and it looked like one of those rules was the wish magic couldn’t affect the creator of the dragon balls. I’d have to talk to Kami about that later after I got settled down my wander lust from having my youth restored.

“Well, any chance I can try growing senzu beans outside the tower?” Korin scratched his chin. “I don’t see why not, just be careful with them. Only grow it on that island and nowhere else. They tend to soak up nutrients from the environment they’re planted in. If we are not careful with who gets them, people could turn forests into deserts by overgrowing them.”

I flew back towards my home to plant these in special soil pots. I was happy and content. I wanted to visit some more of my old acquaintances before talking with Kami about the future of the planet. After that, I would train until the next world martial arts tournament.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………

I’ve spent most of my life learning and teaching martial arts. Now that I’d live forever I needed to spread my knowledge into other areas. I had never learned more than a handful of magical techniques but I knew they would be needed to fight against opponents stronger than me. Magic was the ultimate power neutralizer. The evil containment wave would let someone capture an opponent limitlessly stronger than themself.

I knew I would need similar techniques for fighting that would allow me to punch above my weight. I landed at the area and walked in to greet my sister. “Hello, Baba.” She just smiled at me already having predicted I would eventually do this. “I see you’ve finally listened to me and de-aged yourself.” I just scratched the back of my head as I nodded. She let out a huff as her small smile fell off her face and she went back to her neutral expression.

She walked over and grabbed three books from her shelf. “I expect you’re here for these then? You obviously didn’t come to visit your sister.” She teased as I looked over her magical books. The four basic magical techniques, divination magic for dummies, and how to win friends and influence people with magic.

I had only flipped through the books and learned the thundershock surprise technique and some hypnosis. I popped open the book as I flew towards the Ox-King’s home. Popping open the four basic magical techniques I refresh myself. The four basic magic techniques are healing, conjuration, transmutation, and sealing. I read through the healing first and know that the very basics is just the start. I would need to create many new magical spells and possibly incorporate new ki techniques to truly be prepared.

The Senzu beans were great but they weren’t limitless. Magical healing was the start of changing the odds of winning unwinnable battles. The big drawback to healing is the time it takes and how close you have to be for the healing to work. If I could devise two techniques to counter those drawbacks it would heavily sway my ability to be effective on the battlefield even after Goku surpasses me.

The stronger a person's ki the harder they would be to heal. The workaround for this is the time it takes becomes longer and the magical healing can be trained like any other technique. The more I trained it the stronger and faster I could heal someone. It would only take a brief moment to heal a bird's broken wing but it would take minutes if not longer to heal any wounds Goku received.

I cut my hand and began self-healing. The magic and ki in my body actively fought against this type of healing. It was effectively ten times harder to heal yourself than someone else. Even the small wound had me dizzy from healing but it was great practice.

I arrived at the Ox-King’s home and stepped off the nimbus. It goes flying away, I assume Goku called for it. Well, whatever. I’ll have to work on my shapeshifting to get around until I can use Nimbus again.

Ox-King noticed and greeted me. “You’re looking, young master.” I could only smile as I greeted him. “Yeah, I got a haircut.” We both laugh as he must have pieced together what happened. His daughter was off to the side training. I yawned as I hadn’t gotten much sleep since I was young. “Are you okay master?” I just waved him off. “Yeah, haven’t gotten much sleep since I gave my youth back. I spent my nights… Well, it’s best to not say out loud.”

Even now he wasn’t asking why I was here. I just smiled at him before I walked over and grabbed a shovel. “I need to collect some of the funds I have stored in your house. It’s time to spend a tiny portion of my wealth.”
