After storing everything into a storage capsule I placed it into a satchel and tried to use my shapeshifting. I was absolutely awful at it but it always came in a pinch. I would be chased around by women and have to disappear quickly turning into an ugly vase or footstool. My animal and people transformations were even worse as I became a lumpy bird that could barely fly.

I would need to get the special lessons VCR tape from the shapeshifting school and finish learning it completely. I could only hold the form for about ten minutes as well, so I had to stay close to the ground. At that point, it would have just been faster to run there but I needed to train everything. Eventually, I could change into a bird that would fly faster than if I ran.

I could learn to fly but it was my crane school technique. Learning it would be equivalent to admitting he was the better teacher… Was it time to care about that now? Many people build their telekinesis to the point where they can float and from there they learn how to fly using ki. I think that is the best method instead of asking Tien or Puar to teach me.

Telekinetically lifting up my shapeshifted bird form helped me fly more stably. It was a few hours of flying until I was exhausted and then running before I made it back to Bulma’s city. I purchased many things I would need in the future and made my way home.

It was only a few months of training before I expanded my magic capabilities tremendously. First, healing became easier and easier. I could now heal a wound that would cripple my fighting ability with magic and still get right back into the fight. My conjuring skill increased to about thirty pounds of material at once from the two or three pounds I could do when I started.

There was no transmutation spell to practice besides the electric shock surprise but it was as powerful as it could get. The change beam technique required tremendous willpower and full belief in what you actually wanted. It was the strongest magic there was for taking down opponents but the most I could do was make a rock slightly softer right now.

The book didn’t really have any other sealing techniques but it did teach me how to make more sealing containers for the mafuba technique. It also had the details on how to make stronger containers and seals for most techniques. My telekinesis improved by leaps and bounds as well. Coming from a different more specialized book on psychokinesis I mainly focused on that part of the book this time. Psycho threads and psycho pull were the two spells I learned but also just increased the amount I could lift telekinetically as well.

My hypnosis still only worked on very stupid people at this point. There were no other spells besides the very basic one and my own variations on it. I had learned hypnosis… Earlier in my life for… Reasons other than fighting. I had never used it that way but it might have been because it had never worked on a single woman before. None, even Bulma’s mother, were stupid enough to be affected. I had also received the VCR tape for learning how to shapeshift.

The shapeshifting classes had three VRC tapes so just after learning from the first I could only do inanimate objects better and the time I could hold the technique had only gone up to fifteen minutes. Besides that, I had the fundamentals down for several new magical spells and ki techniques I was making myself that had no counterpart. It had still been long enough for me to get the basics down.

I had put it off for too long though. I needed to train under a true master of magic and there was only one on the planet. I needed to become a disciple of Kami. I loaded up my supplies and let loose a flying vehicle Bulma gave me when I asked for the capsules to head up to the lookout. I could train my shapeshifting but until I got the second VCR tape I was pretty much stuck at my skill level.

Even while flying I channeled my ki into another seal. The transfer rate wasn’t as good as transferring my energy myself but it could be used as a battery to replenish my own ki as well as others. I had about a dozen seals for that reason and was making more. I just needed to make sure I don’t get the opposite type of seals that would drain ki from a person they’re placed on mixed up.

I also decided to bring Launch with me. It was just nice to have her around... Kami greeted me as I landed. “It’s nice to meet you Roshi, I have been expecting you for months now. What made you change your mind to come receive training from me?” Of course, the god of the planet would know why I wished for my eternal youth. Even without ever meeting him he still knew I was planning to come train under him.

“You know how it is. I’ve sort of hit walls with my magic training so I figured I should come and learn from the best.” Kami originally wanted me to be the guardian of Earth but I was already too old when he first noticed me and the role never suited my style. Even now I only want to learn how to protect the Earth better, not become its guardian. There was a huge difference between those two things.

The main difference was the burden of being the guardian of Earth. I would show up to defend the Earth every single time it needed it but at the same time, I didn’t want it to be my job. That was just too much pressure. I would hate for the world to have ended because I was spying on the women’s bathhouse instead of training.

I just wanted to be there and help where I could and if it’s the end of the world take a small part of the blame. Popo showed us around the lookout and we were met with the kitchen where he lamented his and Kami’s skills lacking in that particular area. The food they made was filling with no taste. It was the worst part of living here. At least that was before, Launch began cooking a large pot of rice while frying some fish made the entire lookout smell great.

I changed out of my clothes and into the disciple's set Kami had prepared. I took in a deep breath as I slapped my face and prepared to learn as much as I could over the next few years. I wasn’t a fan of his meditation techniques preferring my own(watching women’s workout videos) but I would try my best to learn.
