MHA: I Chapter 07 (Patreon)

Momo interrupted the conversation. “My fiance and I have an understanding. While we’re both young we’re both free to explore other relationships but once we marry we’ll be exclusive. I don’t mind him kissing girls to heal them either.” I could see her face growing red at her outwardness. There was more to it than that but that is what we both agreed to tell people.
The truth was I needed more than one woman to flourish. Momo and I had sex already and it was clear that unless she had an endurance quirk she would need help to sate my lust. Another thing we found out from that was that we both grew a little stronger through sex. If my theory was right and based on the other partner's strength, the more women I slept with, the stronger I got, and the stronger I could make the women I slept with.
I wasn’t willing to pay a woman with a strength-based quirk to find out but more experimenting would have to be done later on. I was in no rush as we had the rest of our lives to figure it out. It’s not like we’d be under constant threat as hero candidates anyway. Some of the women in the class were also only seventeen and I would rather wait until everyone was legal before I started chasing any.
Izuka was the perfect example of this as it would be another month before she was eighteen. Tsuyu and Ochako were both seventeen as well so until they reached eighteen I wouldn’t chase them. It was harder than I thought it would be to not push things further with Izuka. I knew she liked me and she knew I liked her… At least I thought she did but she was so dense it was possible she didn’t realize.
The country still didn’t support polygamy and anyone with sex-related quirks would be looked down on. Midnight would be over a hundred ranks higher if she didn’t go for the sexual route but that was the problem with quirks. Before she became a teacher she was ranked 250 even though she was incredibly popular and had a high villain catch rate because of her hero costume.
The explosive guy had an explosive quirk and the sexualized girl had a sleep-inducing quirk. Nine out of ten people would not assume these two people were heroes, most would guess villains based on their quirks. The bias system would probably have me set as third or fourth out of our class just because my quirk looked more demonic than others even if I caught more villains and was more popular.
That was just the world we lived in. It didn’t matter how good you were at catching villains if you didn’t have the right quirk. They absolutely loved strength-based quirks, attempting to make macho men the most popular. Out of the top ten heroes, there was only a single female and she had catch rates that should have put her in the top three but she was ranked ninth in the country.
We finished class and I had plenty of other work to catch up on. I was now officially working for my father's company. I had built up about a century of life force through contracts but none of them were on paper and were just in case someone I was friends with got really hurt. Now I could start building up a supply of money and life force for healing through the insane loophole of my quirk.
First, we would get life force. This was done by trading people their life force for money. I was already a millionaire through other means, but most contracts were 150,277,638 yen (1 million dollars) for ten years of their life expectancy. Ten years of life expectancy could heal fatal illnesses like cancer. I would sell the treatment for more than the money I traded for the life force and end up with a net positive in both categories. That is how I got a hundred years of backup life since I healed Izuka’s sensei.
It was hard to see it as anything negative. People might say that I’m killing people by taking their life but it’s all done above board. If people were willing to sell the worst ten years at the end of their lives to make their lives better that was completely up to them… Most of the people doing the trade were gamblers looking to pay off other debts or willing to spend their entire lifespans gambling.
I also couldn’t do other contracts like my father and was solely focused on healing contracts, I think it was just a side effect of who my mother was. He had far more leeway with his contracts but he bound them in other ways than taking their life force. It meant he had to be more creative with how he made money but most of the time he would make unbreakable contracts that had severe penalties if the contract was broken.
For my mother, he made it impossible to trick him in the fine print that my mother didn’t read. It made any attempts to ‘give him a male heir’ impossible to thwart. Even her body adjusted and removed the chances of having a girl baby. Many businesses who thought they could get away with ripping him off often ended up not so willingly signing over everything they owned to him because they failed to pay him back.
The week went by and we had our first real practice at hero work. We were going to split into groups of two where one team was heroes and the other was villains. The villain team needed to protect a fake bomb from the heroes deactivating it by touching it. It was me and Toru on a team as we watched Izuka and Bakugo fight. She somehow beat him but that was mainly because Bakugo was focused on fighting her instead of completing the objective.
Everyone else did fine with many unexpected upsets as the villains had a harder time winning than expected. The trial seemed slightly weighted in the favor of the heroes as they only had to touch the bomb and the time period meant that the villains were playing defense for a fairly long time. All Might said the opposite, that it was weighted in the villain's favor but I didn’t think so.
At most it would take them five minutes to find the bomb then they had ten minutes to touch it while the villains could slow them down. It meant the only villain teams that won went on offense and just beat the heroes before they could explore. Bakugo and Tenya wouldn’t have lost if it wasn’t weighted against them. It finally got down to us.
Me and Toru versus Shoto and Mezo. I waited for the test to begin and after about a minute the room had suddenly filled with ice. I didn’t wait for them next to the bomb, instead, I headed towards them. I cut them off as they were making their way up the stairs. The shocked look on Shoto’s face, as he saw I was completely fine, was very satisfying as I spun mid-air and kicked him against the wall.
Mezo was a much better fighter but I was over ten times stronger than a normal human in my demonic form. I captured the two of them making sure we won as Toru needed to be thawed out from her feet being frozen to the ground. Once Shoto regained consciousness he asked. “H-how? I have to be careful to not cause normal people frostbite when I use my quirk, how did you shrug off the freezing effects?”
I gave him a smug smirk as I answered. “I’m a tad bit more resistant to elements in my demonic form.” Which was the truth. The ten times increase also affected the resistance to other effects. I could hold a live wire, swim in winter, and be perfectly fine for a few minutes in a fire while in my demonic form. I was actually the perfect counter to him now that I thought about it. To both him and Bakugo.
