Aura strike obviously because it was sick as fuck and gave me some range beyond the AK and pistols I had in my inventory. Knowledge and level of the skill were completely different. I think I could max out a skill without really knowing about it, so I wasn’t going to become a swordmaster for maxing it out, but my sword flailing would be far more powerful than someone else without the skill.

I still couldn’t use Nen so I just kept raising my non-Nen-related skills. Four days later, it finally reactivated, and I had only increased my skills up to level fifty.

Passive reflexes- Even while unconscious can dodge attacks or strike back

Time dilation- Active subskill- Once per day increase your vision so that everything appears to be in slow motion

Musical attunement- Have pitch-perfect hearing and can learn instruments more rapidly

I picked no weaknesses for enhanced strength which didn’t lower my strength but just increased the other stats. It meant if I focused on strength the points wouldn’t be sacrificed to increase the other stats. It did lock me out of it for all other no weaknesses for the other stats. The half-stat growth for intellect seemed insanely weak as I was going for a well-rounded build. I knew that an intellect-based build would become extremely strong as Nen linked to intellect. I picked fleet foot, turtle up, and musical attunement. Another day passed and my Nen was still locked.

I had spent most of my life in bed unable to do anything so I guess I had an aversion to waiting. I was already feeling antsy just training my stats these past few days but I knew it was necessary. I raised my unarmed, kendo sword and began training with pistols.

Nen bullets- Active subskill- Three times per day empower the bullets in a weapon, empowered bullets are twice as fast and more durable than regular bullets

I picked spirit stand, soul blade, and marksman teacher. It went without saying that two subskills for unarmed would be good, but at the same time spirit stand just did more. Soul blade would mean I always had a weapon on me, I had a feeling that a floating sword always in my aura would get annoying fast. Marksman teacher to help my parent's bodyguards gain the skill if it was possible. If not teaching them the skill, having a better aim or whatnot from just listening to me talk about marksmanship every once in a while would be brilliant.

It was crazy how good I was at shooting already with it just reaching twenty-five. Not only could I hit most of the shots when I was focused, but also when I hip-fired or fired without looking. The bullets consumed to reach level twenty-five were severe and it might take a long time for my parent's bodyguards to gain the skill but… If they all could protect them better then it was a good thing…

I went to sleep again that night as I felt my stats slowly grinding to a halt. I was gaining ten, even twenty of each stat every day but I was only getting one every few hours of hard work. The same went with the skills, the physical skills leveled far slower than the magical ones. I knew the Nen-related skills leveled faster but it was to a significant degree. It would take an entire day focusing on a skill now to reach seventy-five and possibly longer than that to reach one hundred.

It was nice that my Nen was finally reactivated. My aura expanded as I heard a voice in the back of my head. “Master… Master… Greetings master!” I turned to see an Igor-looking little guy and he viscerally repulsed me—the one from the Frankenstein series, not Daniel Radcliff but Young Frankenstein. You don’t realize how creepy it is over the television, his broken body, and bugged-out eyes giving him an unhuman look. I sputtered out. “C-can you change your form?”

With a big smile, he began to change into different people. First into Timon from The Lion King, DC’s Flash, the fucking tow truck from Cars, Bugs Bunny, Jar Jar Binks, a Minion from the Minions, Sokka from Avatar, Usopp from One Piece, Sponge Bob Square Pants, Kronk from Emperors New Groove, Ron Weasley from Harry Potter and finally settling in on the Genie from Aladdin. With a contented sigh, he said. “New skin who dis?”
