My favorite part about the end scene where the Class C rumors are coming out... you commented on how Sudo is calling someone else out for being annoying as character growth. But there is a subtle, bigger character growth in that same moment. Sudo is holding back one of his own classmates from lashing out violently (in this case throwing a punch at Yamauchi). In the first season Sudo would have thoughtlessly thrown that punch himself. In the 2nd season he would have been visibly restraining himself from doing it. Now he not only didn't even consider it... but physically stopped another classmate from doing it. Talk about some character growth! 3 cheers for Sudo! I also really respect that he didn't demean himself by asking for the chocolates from Horikita. He just tried to casually setup a situation where she might be able to give him some without it being public. Cuz lord knows that if Horikita was going to give him (or anyone, really) chocolates she certainly wouldn't do it in public in the classroom. Unrelated, I really love the scene where Kei and Ayanokoji are getting the Class A guy to back off. Showing how well they operate together to keep their situation under wraps without actually communicating. Ayanokoji physically communicated they were being watched to her. She ID'd the situation and put together a reasonable excuse for their interaction. Ayanokoji setting up that "just tell him the truth, it'll be less suspicious" as an opening for her to say anything that seems plausible as the "actual truth". She really is a much, much better chess piece than Horikita in so many ways - as he pointed out when he was recruiting her.

I think Yamauchi doesn't really care whether the rumors are true or not, he just there for being a douchebag and enjoying it. Remember that he is the bottom of the bottom. Also, outside of the students seems so easily to believe some rumors (including Ichinose one), ANHS are basically an isolated school which each students do not have access to external information about one another and their pasts, making it difficult to verify any claims. We have seen this multiple times: Ayanokoji, the super flat and boring student is coming from White Room, Kei was a victim of heavy bullying, Kushida was a nuance that 'destroy' her ex-class despite her cheerful appearance, The super shy Airi was a former gravure model idol, etc. So yeah you are right that it's not out of stretch that if some rumors could be true or partially true.

I love the Hashimoto confrontation scene as well. Very impressive that Karuizawa was able to improvise these excuses under pressure as well. Even if Hashimoto didn't buy any of it, at least he became more or less convinced that Ayanokouji and Karuizawa were just trying to hide their romantic relationship from him.
