I'm sorry to those who like to read by email, the default option doesn't show the whole post on email so I need to remember to turn it on each time I post. I forgot this time...oops I'll try to see if I can make the whole post being available on email be the default option. Patreon is strange, some creators have it on as the default option whilst others have it off.

I would think making a “black hole” formation would solve the qi gathering issue as it would suck everything in and would be power by the combination of red and blue energies chaotic nature. It could be a three step formation the suction layer then the filtered layer (pin hole 🕳 which each type of qi would have a frequency/wavelength) Then have crystallization layer to force the qi into a solid state form to physical store in the inner world. If the Mc was smart to make the land into a flat earth style then the under space would be where that stuff would be stored.

The black hole is a good idea. As for formations being powered by the energy of the two suns, they're not compatible since formations are weaved using qi, it requires qi to stay activate. Similar to how runes are weaved using the power of the red sun, so when Ke Yin channels qi at the same time, it doesn't affect the runes. I hope that explains it well.

I hope Ke Yin can make a fusion of sorts eventual. Perhaps after some more experience with other energies to create some kind of universal one

Wait the minute... is azure.. a she? A dao companion?

I don't think they have a gender. To my knowledge the book has never used pronouns for them. That being said I have been thinking of them as male since the main character is male so it is certainly possible that I missed something.

Nevermind, no he is male. At the beginning of this chapter it says "His (Azure) smile turned sad then, an unusual expression for him." So definitely male.

I’m 99% sure that the novel almost consistently used “he” at at least one point in it, I changed my mental image to a man specifically because of this so I’m quite certain.

The story has consistently referred to Azure as "he" so I am pretty sure Azure's a he. I do remember it being unclear very briefly because I did originally have a more feminine voice in mind and then "he" was used and I was like "oop. nvm."
