Tftc I liked this chapter a lot. Kane had a lot of fear before coming to his hometown, but it seems he finally realises that he has truly become Ke Yin, not just a thief stealing his body. Him accepting himself will help him a lot in the future

Yes he has memories of the past so Ke Yin is part of him. What are we except our memories. MC is just a bit confused about having two sets and is treating one as more real than the other but that seems like just a mental barrier. He is not Ke Yin prior to "the incident" but he is not his past self either anymore.

I suspect that the system he has recycled the original Ke Yins soul and Cain’s souls by merging them together as best it could but also snipping off a piece of Ke Yin’s souls that couldn’t be merged or fully integrating and formed Azure.

Yep, he was overthinking it just because he didn't meet them right after taking over... it doesn't matter if he is the original or a replacement, what's done is done and its not like he had any choice in the matter. Just accept it and move on...
