does he really need this? isn't the whole point just to form a connection to the blue sun which he already has

Druid

It will allow him more control, and moreover the Lightweavers would probably be highly suspicious if he didn't have it.

Matthew Bernardin

nah he's here to learn their system so the dual stuff makes sense. So of course he learns all the hippy stuff the first time round so he can optimise for later

This isnt part of the cultivation is creation collection.

I… don’t like painting. I just think it’s cringe, as a power. And it doesn’t even synergize with his existing abilities. The idea that sculpting lacked speed and adaptability is frankly a stupid oversight by mc. He can LITERALLY CONTROL PLANTS. Why in all the hells would he pull out a painting and brush in the middle of combat when he can sculpt using his plants? How is he even going to find a moment to pull out his brush kit in the middle of combat? He fights hand to hand most of the time! Where are you going with this bro? I get that it was stated you had to channel blue sun energy through your hands for sculpting, but like, he can channel red sun energy directly into plants. I can see literally no reason why it would work much differently for blue. Overall the logic just seems flawed here, and my upset has nothing to do with the fact that painting is a shitty power. Nothing at all.

I feel you. All of the flaws of sculpting - being slow and unadaptive - are null with him since he can sculpt using his power. Plus he could still incorporate the other forms of powers : painting the sculpture, writing on it, and incorporating some kind of musical element (a hole in the sculpture that makes musical notes with wind for exemple). But the worst part ? Painting isn't even adaptive ! Yes, he could draw in the air or pretty quickly, however that painting/drawing will always be subpar since he tries to do it fast. With sculpting he could pretend to be attacking someone with vines, only to reveal he was sculpting with them and catching the enemy off guard.
