We explore Tucker Carlson's attempts to rewrite what happened on January 6th by focusing on footage of Jacob Chansley AKA the QAnon Shaman. We also delve into the changing story about what led to Capitol Officer Brian Sicknick's death. We then spend some time with a twitter account basically LARPing as Jack Smith, the special counselor who's the new great hope for Muellerites.

Any QAA ep that includes censored Julian is immediately goated

Re: Chansley's sentence - You guys noted, then ignored, the most important part of this. He left a threatening note for the sitting Vice POTUS. That's why he received--and deserved--a stiffer sentence than other people who didn't commit physical violence. You're overthinking this.

I wanna know the resistance lib accounts they’re subtweeting. EmptyWheel? MuellerSheWrote?

I agree with Jake. Osirus was pretty shitty to you at the end of each of those missions.

Not sure anymore if it's in this episode or the next that you mentioned that "only the most outrageous people" end up seen and legitimized due to the news cycle and the fact that people just want eyeballs on their stuff. In truth, it's the same anywhere else: in academia, most papers making huge claims are wrong, but they still get published in higher impact factor journals (bacteria living off arsenic, anyone?); in the startup and VC domain, people like Elizabeth Holmes make a killing, but not only them, also Adam Neumann, and countless others you've never heard of secure insane amounts of funding on absolutely zero understanding on how to run a profitable business; in Finance, those who make the biggest claim (Enron, SBF, the guys at Crédit Suisse...) usually are the ones to end up in the shit. I'm quite sure it must be the same in other industries where I haven't worked. The world is just full of conmen and confidence sells because we lap it up. The world just loves all the risk takers and big talkers. They hate the meek and reasonable. Once in a while it ends up building Apple but then again once in a while they invade Poland.

Oh shit i remember the arsenic bacteria thing! If memory serves, that species can tolerate arsenic but under artificially high concentrations the scientists were able to force it to incorporate arsenic into it's DNA in the place of phosphorus, right?
