JordanCon Update

Hey Everyone,

Hope you had a great weekend. Here is the next batch of five chapters. :)

Just to give a heads-up, I'll be heading to JordanCon in Atlanta from the 24th - 28th of April. There's a chance that it will impact the amount of chapters I get out, so just warning in advance. Next week won't be impacted, though.

Just got to the end of the first chapter where Sal vocalises his laugh and imagining him, fists and biceps clenched, head back, cackling and Barry, Divinity and Blaithnad looking at each other “so, I can see what you mean with the villainy…”

War zone should also be good fun, as well as Rusts class. Divinity, Blathned and Sal should be a nice surprise for many people. Also looking forward to the inter cohort battle.

Ummm. Atlanta… if I remember is in the States right? Correct if I’m wrong but you’re Irish right? Word of warning take a burner phone not your actual phone (They’ve been taking phones and downloading all your information), and be warned that they might put you in jail/prison for a week (Both a Canadian and British Women have already gone through this. I have a cousin in the states and she my mom have been conversing. It’s awful there right now. I’m also warning anyone that is Black or of Iran descent. It’s really bad there.

Just amazing. Assimilate in action looks amazing, and seeing Jackal's evolution report, I'm having so many speculations about subsume that would make the Mythical Blight Jackal so much more incredible than I already thought. I can't wait to see where it goes in the future. :)

Love the fact Sal finally got to cut lose with his gear and go nuclear! Love that Barry basically called Sal a cheater lol. And I love the competence demonstrated by Fabi and Upgrade through crafting Sal's armor. Thank you for the wonderful chapters...again!

Hmmm. Is Sal ever going to have a stat imbalance problem? If endurance denotes the resilience of his body, if his strength stat outpaces it too much, shouldn’t he tear himself apart if he uses too much strength? And I also have questions about speed, strength, and mobility. Strength and mobility make enough sense, but isn’t speed the same as strength? It’s not as if strength is making Sal any heavier, so it’d have to make him faster… as well as durable enough to handle being faster

Finally! Some fun with the toys! So that was all at the legendary grade, right? I wonder, how would you quantify the jump in grades in terms of fire power? Would it kind of be like the fat man to castle bravo or fat man to tzar bomba?

It's not a difference in power but quantity. Going from epic to legendary, you double the room for abilities on the item. So, you can use that room to put a bigger ability in it, like the mythic gloves arsenal, or multiple smaller ones. If you craft it as an epic, you are very limited in how much room you have left after the regenerate ability, leaving you with one or the other. It's something Upgrade brought up in the EssPro class and hinted at when she explained the functions in last week's chapters, how they used up all the space with essence programming.

!Spoiler Warning! Is Sal able to figure which demons are giving him mastery skill progression. I would be out farming those demons after I hit 20 in all my stats. Those masks might give 100% mastery for an hour but 0.6% gain for a few hours work would show real progress in a few months and I would be very excited to see what his evolved skill mastery weave would look like.

That is not a Mastery improvement; it's a skill improvement. The question is whether it means a direct rise in ability grade or in the progress to the next grade percentage.

I live just outside of Atlanta. If you want delicious BBQ ribs, along with live blues, check out Fat Matt’s Rib Shack, which is around little five points iirc. I just celebrated 13 years of sobriety, so I don’t have any good bar recommendations, other than the Vortex. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GO THE SPEED LIMIT!!!!!! We WILL run your slow ass over. Imagine the top gear episode in India, just at much faster speeds! Decatur/Norcross area has a thriving Asian community! For Ramen, Umaido up on the north side is the place, followed closely by their sister restaurant Hajime which is closer to buckhead.

Tyftc. Usually more into the crafting side of things but these chapters were fun. Are we going to get a stats chart for Sal sometime soon? Or is that too daunting?

Question for the end of chapter 58 Why did Divinity no thank Sal for saving her? Is it because she already saw it in a vision? Sal explains that the protection protocol was one of the frist things he did. I think that is very sweet of him and his friends could appreciate that a little more.

Best chapters of the book. I really like Brophy, I hope Sal can fix his issues. For Gods sake, slap Erica around some, Sal really should get some payback for that mind control skill she uses. Lots of story arcs to explore, can’t wait.

I'm hoping we see some skill weave work soon, I miss it. 😀 The dungeon run in these chapters was awesome. Just a shame Anthony didn't feel up to having a go against leechers or prowlers especially since Barry was containing the flow of them.

Got a question for you, Brian. Is the Refine skill that Sal puts into the machine the same as the Refinement skill he researched in book 2?

I'm guessing you mean the Refinement Skill from book 3 and not the refining technique from book 2. and no, they are not the same. Refinement has a higher skill grade, only involves invention essence, and works only on crafted equipment by raising a stat on it. It is also a little unclear at the moment which refine skill exactly Sal used, as he had the grade 12 from the skill orb, and the unknown one from his visor at that time, and then also changed it 2 times before finally using it.

I’ve just realised that if Sal has his mothers weave and father then the skill training Sal would have later on would be body modifications and all sight and upgrade with the training would change the martial art and abilities available to Sal in the future with the mask

56 starts out weird. It says Sal is behind Fabi and then says that only Upgrade is ahead of Sal. Also, Sal and his advisors all using the metaphor "rush to the finish line" feels overused. Like it's the author's voice speaking rather than each unique character using idioms from their own experience. And Anthony purposefully not taking the voracious rapier on a real dungeon run makes zero sense.
