Free heroin planet? Nah, I bet they have SOMA. High school lit was good for something atleast. First thing I think of when I hear a world where everyone is happy is "Brave New World".

A tough show indeed, but your will to understand each character's actions shall make this an exemplary series! Some stories feel like a desperate struggle to attain any light in an infinite void, with only the slight shimmer of a glimmer whispering a promise of hope. I felt that way about Vinland Saga, and later in Attack on Titan, and that same sense is here as well! I believe in Takopi, but he's got to lock in. (• ε •)

I swear whenever that damn theme song starts I'm Pavlov conditioned now to tear up.

A little while ago I randomly came across the manga and I decided to give it a shot. I still almost a year later have no idea how to feel about it so maybe this will help clear my thoughts lol

Wow I can’t wait to watch this with you as it’s been on my to watch list for so long😅. On a side note though: are you going to react to the first 2 of the JJK episodes together? if you’re unsure I believe it’s best to watch back to back as the first episode by itself is tasteless/unsatisfying

you are in for a wild ride with this oneeee 😭😭

13:15 : When you become the background NPC. "Parents are human too". But not all humans are equally good parents. Though to be fair, one thing come to mind: How far back the line are we going to look for reasons and excuses? Marina is bullying Shizuka and we understand this stems from her own familial situation. What about Marina's mother? Was she also raised with some trauma? Or, more closer to the current timeline, maybe the father is treating them worse than simply having an affair? But what if the father's also acting the way we can presume he is acting because of other reasons? At some point, ideally as close to the observed problematic behaviour as possible, society needs to be policing and intervene. I am not for nanny states, but clearly the one most at fault here is the school. At least Marina, maybe even Shizuka too, needs to be removed from their homes in the hopes that the problem does not propagate in the future too.

I watched them back to back, I will try to upload them that way but will depend if I can finish. But the first episode for sure tomorrow :D

Yeah you raise a good point. I think it's a lot of things simultaneously. For sympathy and understanding: There's a long lineage of event that sets the stage for things to continue to go wrong. More fundamentally, life is difficult and death, decay, and physical limitations are an unremovable part of life. For responsibility and action: People make choices and those choices have real consequences. All people at a certain point have at least a dim understanding that they are capable of making choices, and that some choices are better or worse than others. And certain courses of action, whatever the reason or however sympathetic, cannot be tolerated. So you COULD go all the way back to Marina's mother's parents, probably, and you could go all the way back to the beginning of time, and that analysis would probably be correct. But also, this can't be allowed to continue and the parents are responsible for their actions and how they treat their children. It's not a matter of identifying who's wrong or who's bad, it's a question of what to do.
