We now have several examples of Louis lying in different ways to Daniel. A) Disguising Armand's presence under the guise of "Rashid" on purpose and B) Lying to himself about his role in trying to save Lestat. To what extent does this change your opinion of Louis, and what do you think the goal of the first lie is? Do you have any suspicions about other things he might be concealing -- either from himself or from Daniel? Do you still believe modern Louis has accepted his trauma and is finally content/enlightened in his life or is his present-day-self another carefully crafted story?

Elizabeth Gates

As her parent, how do you feel about Louis letting Claudia take the lead on the plan to murder Lestat? In some ways, it's similar to letting Claudia set the demands with Lestat in 1x6. To what extent does he use inaction as a way to keep himself morally clean at the expense of others around him? Louis loves to cite the "vampire bond" as the reason he can't quit Lestat and still sometimes speaks well of him. Given that the exact same bond would exist between Lestat and Claudia, and Claudia had no qualms with leaving him or killing him, how much do you believe in the vampire bond as a real tying or compelling force?

When trying to save Lestat from Claudia, Louis does attempt to choke her. While not as extreme as Lestat's actions in 1x5, where does this fall on your scale of physical abuse? Louis also gives his reasons for wanting to kill Lestat. Rather than expressing fear, he mentions that this was his way of "having Lestat all to himself." Does this change how morally justified the pre-planned murder is?

armand has been disguised as rashid the entire time daniel has been conducting the interview with louis, he clearly didn’t want to be involved in the interview but still wanted to be close by - what are your thoughts on the reasoning behind his disguise and why was now the time to reveal himself?

Olivia

we have the reveal at the end of the episode of ‘rashid’ being the vampire armand, a vampire who is over 500 years old ( the oldest that we have encountered so far ) with a multitude of abilities that louis doesnt have such as the cloud gift and being able to go out in the sun - with this new information, how does that change your thoughts on the dynamic between the two of them and how can you see it playing out next season?

Elizabeth Gates

Now that you've watched the first season of IWTV, where would you rank these vampires morally compared to, say, The Originals or The Vampire Diaries? These shows obviously have very different tones, but if you were to take things action vs. action. For example, in The Vampire Diaries, Damon raped Caroline, killed Jeremy (without knowing he was wearing the resurrection ring), killed Zach and Lexie, and forced Elena to take his blood. Elijah killed Tatiana and Marcel, choked out Hayley, and compelled Aurora to break Klaus' heart, in addition to general mass murder. Klaus's atrocities include compelling families to kill each other, repeatedly staking his family, trapping Hayley in her wolf form for months, and essentially mind-controlling Stefan and his army of hybrids. Given their statuses as "redeemed" characters, is there a way for this story to redeem its horrific characters or is no forgiveness possible even with eternity at play?

So, in answer to your earlier question - the bookshelves are floating because Armand can still reach them with his Cloud Gift. Does this placement still seem strange to you, given that Louis loves books but can't access them directly? Also, the differences in the set dressing on either end of the dining table come down to the fact that two separate people decorated the house.

I feel like I should mention - Claudia is recast for S2. The actress who played her in S1 got a chance to better support her family by being in the James Cameron Avatar movies. The actress who replaced her did a wonderful job, given the fact that she had (I think) only about two weeks of prep time for the role.

With the reveal that Rashid is actually the vampire Armand, much much older than Louis and looking in retrospect at their dynamic in previous episodes, what do you think Louis and Armand’s relationship is like compared to Lestat and Louis’s? Also, just as a fun question, if Lestat had been in Armand’s place while this interview was being conducted, how differently do you think the process would have gone if at all?

Hali

Just to recap things we’ve seen Armand do as Rashid that may now seem odd in retrospect: - Be a servant to Louis and to Daniel - Be fed on by Louis - Stand in the sun - Pray What do you think about all these actions now? Was his servitude, being fed on and praying all an act? As a 500 year old vampire he could’ve chosen to stay hidden for the entire duration of Daniel’s visit, so why make his presence known at all?

how do you feel about claudia kinda forcing louis to go through with the plan when its pretty clear he doesnt want to? he fully tells her out loud that he doesnt when they dance together, but she keeps going with it anyway. in the end we know he kills him and they get away, but doesnt FULLY kill him, do you think this will affect their relationship in any way? how will louis feel about claudia doing this against his will, the added trauma and guilt that killing someone he loves might leave him with? and how will claudia feel about louis letting her down by not going through with it?

not a question but i have a request. at the end of each s2 episode there are a few minutes of bts and the actors share some of their thoughts on the episode, would you be interested in watching those and including them in the reaction? it would be fun to see i think, and interesting to see if you agree w the actors thoughts on things. im not 100% sure the bts are included in your version bc i didnt watch iwtv on bbc, but if theyre not they are on amc's youtube channel. heres the bts for the first episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTyqgBNh1s8 (just watch out for the thumbnails for the eps you havent seen cause i guess they could be considered spoilers) if youre into the idea but dont want to watch them during the episode reactions would you maybe be interested in reacting to all of them after youve finished s2? :) suuuper excited for your s2 reactions, i love s1 but s2 rlly brings the writing and acting to another level.

that scene on the balcony is interesting to rewatch when you know that lestat was aware they were going to kill him, its like hes silently begging louis not to without actually saying it. he never confronts louis and claudia about it even tho hes known the entire time, why do you think that is? and what do you think louis and lestat were thinking and feeling during the murder scene? do you think lestat thought he deserved to die? what did he mean by ''im happy it was you''?
