Fun fact- Nicola Bryant audition for the role of Captain Katheryn Janeway for Star Trek Voyager. While Kate Mulgrew is iconic in the role, I would love to see the alternate reality where Nicola got the part. And while Peri is supposed to be American, Nicola Bryant most definitely is not. Don't be surprised when her American accent slips, as it will several times in the future. What's ridiculous is that the BBC wanted her to keep up the pretense even in public.

From memory of reading the novelisation (which I read first) I think Peri gets a leg cramp whilst swimming so ends up in trouble, but it's not clear in the TV version. Also re-watching these I'm really impressed with Mark Strickson, like Elisabeth Slade he's always acting, always doing something even if it's rolling his eyes 😂

Thanks for another great reaction & hope you had a great holiday. I like this story for the intrigue of it, as well as the exotic location filming. It was one of the few times Classic Who ventured overseas to film a story. I also love it when Classic Who goes down the road of attributing a myth to real events, which I feel they always pull off really well. See you next time!

Regarding Peri's dramatic slip and slide down that scree-ridden slope, I am inescapably reminded of Sarah's tumble down a grassy slope in The Five Doctors. Basically comprised of a lot of noise and lost, frustrated dignity. Oh yes. The Master turned up. It had been many years since Peter Wyngarde had been on our television screens. He had a central role in two adventure series back in the 60s. Department S and it's spin off series Jason King. Jason King was an author/adventurer whose origins were within the former series about a department that deals with impossible cases. For example, an aeroplane that lands at an airport and there is nobody onboard - 'One Of Our Aircraft Is Empty'. I've often thought a good reaction series, maybe if only as a tryout for a few episodes. The theme tune is one of the best on television.

That's what was so captivating about Lis. I remember vividly in Brain Of Morbius, Tom was sitting all disconsolate and sulking on a rock, 'walking the dog' with his yoyo and Lis was fed up and mooching about behind him and she glanced in his direction and just went "meh!", sticking her tongue out at him. It was so endearing and It's those bits of business that add so much depth to a character and made us fall in love with Lis herself all the more.

Completely, it's only this time round that I've realised how much stuff Mark is doing as well. As a character Turlough isn't as well served as Sarah Jane, but Mark really give it everything.
