I love how epic this episode feels. The submarine crew's, and Delphine's, professional devotion to their mission; the determination to succeed and do the right thing even in the face of death; mirrored with Dean doing the same in his fight (I particularly love the doomed-but-job-to-do expression in the eyes of the surface vessel finder guy). It's like Indiana Jones crossed with Captain America crossed with Buffy - 'the mission is what matters'. The high stakes; the frankness that they lead to, with both Lucifer revealing himself and Dean telling the crew the truth because it matters just that much. The connection he has with Delphine as people of Letters. It really instils a sense of respect for the military and their sacrifice. Also the lore and how the Hand of God takes it to a new level - really drives home the idea that God was around as a supreme being, on the Darkness's level, once upon a time.
