Let me know what movies you'd like to see me react to the next three months. Vote for as many as you'd like! If a movie gets 20 votes or more, that movie will move onto the next poll!

If a movie hovers around 3 hours or more, I reserve the right to span it over two months. If it's a busy time for my channel or life, finding the time to film that much and not to mention getting it to my editor to cut down can be very difficult. It's all going to depend on what's going on around that time.

Please remember that the comment section of this poll is where you should leave suggestions for the next extra movie reaction poll. I simply cannot look through all of my messages and every post to see if there are suggestions underneath them.

Note on Wicked: I know the musical extremely well. Was a very big part of my life growing up. Could still be a very fun reaction but I felt the need to let you know I won't be surprised by the story itself unless they really detract from the Broadway musical.

Question for my very lovely and regular viewers. I really do want to see The Substance but I'm also insanely worried that I will faint. If any of you that somewhat know my triggers that have seen it could enlighten me if it's a good idea or not, I would appreciate it.

Jenny Chalek

I haven't watched it yet, so I don't know. But maybe I'll watch it this weekend and let you know what I think.

sesskasays

Again reminder to future self to add Creed after I react to Rocky.

Jenny Chalek

I'd like to suggest a foreign film for consideration - Downfall (Der Untergang). It's based on Hitler's secretary's writings and how she navigated the last days of the war during his downfall. It's a German made film, one of the best about Hitler I think ever made. The actor who played Hitler (Bruno Ganz) deserved awards for it. Best watched in German with English subtitles.

Lucas

Did you ever watch the Netflix show of A Series of Unfortunate Events? I know you're an NPH fan so I'd figure it could be likely, but if not those reactions would be amazing since the show is really good (much better than the film).

Thomas Corp

Similar to what Jenny said, I’ve not yet seen it myself, though given what I’ve been hearing about it, there is a strong likelihood that fainting would be a forgone conclusion for you, Jess. With that in mind, I’d err on the side of caution and say probably watch it in your own time. Unless you really want to do a reaction, and even then, I’d say be careful. Greater concern at the present moment is the Lemony Snicket film which people have a death wish if they vote for you to react to that one. Worse is that you can’t just skip past anything as it takes up too much time. Just a guaranteed head’s up if that one wins.

Thomas Corp

I have two suggestions now with a potential third later, depending on how the poll goes. The first suggestion is the film Purple Noon. (Otherwise known as Plein soleil, depending on the overseas markets.) The second film I would suggest is a film entitled Le Samouraï. And if they go on the polls and lose, I strongly encourage, Jess, that you catch them when you get the chance. Pick a night, whip up some nice food, and just enjoy the films, again, if they end up unsuccessful on the polls.

Chris Fone

How about The Death of Stalin (2017)? It get's very, very dark, at times but it's also very, very funny. I can't remember if you've had this on the list before, apologies.

Thomas Corp

It’s a film that really should be seen by everyone at least once. Bruno deserved major awards attention for it. His performance as Hitler, I keep maintaining it’s one of the best performances in anything that I’ve ever seen.

Mark McKeown

Doesthedogdie says it all I think, "the needle usage was brutal, if you have a phobia it’s probably best to skip out on this 1, coming from someone who doesn’t have a phobia." :')

Thomas Corp

Just typed the film into doesthedogdie.com, and statements strongly advise against seeing it if you have the phobia of needles, one such comment saying, and here, I quote, “THIS IS THE NEEDLE AND BODY HORROR MOVIE. DO NOT WATCH IT IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH NEEDLES”, so, with that in mind, I’d advise against a reaction. Few comments indicate that there’s a scene WORSE than the one in Requiem for a Dream, not sure how that’s possible, but if true, yeah, I’d say no to reacting to the film. Makes me scared to see it as I have my own problem with needles, albeit somehow, it is tamer than your phobia.

Ryan

Trying very hard to avoid spoilers here, but Creed uses several elements from the sequels that you might have a hard time following if you haven't seen them, or at least some bits will be way more jarring than they were supposed to be.

Thomas Corp

Which is why I made the note on the last poll advising to put the subsequent Rocky films on the future series polls.

Ryan

I'd advise against it. No snakes, but there are quite a few extreme and extended needle shots. The same director's Revenge could be a good substitute; you have to sit through some very hard violence against a woman in the first act, but then the rest...well, look at the title.

Mark McKeown

Re: Revenge, Jess would hate that, I doubt she'd make it beyond that scene.

Ryan

I'll add in Big Fish, just because after seeing Dumbo and Batman Returns you might as well finish the Burton/De Vito circus trilogy.

Thomas Corp

Been years since I’ve seen it. It is up there in terms of Tim Burton’s best. If it wins on a poll, I’m going to need to do some emotional prep work before sitting down and watching it again; it is going to hurt and hit way too close to home. But, again, really damn good film.

Ryan

I actually saw it just last night for the first time and liveblogged it on Blue Sky. One of my posts was "I'm so good with gore that I never had to look away from Saw or Terrifier. But this is getting to me."

TokuBLWhovian

Suggestion - Ultraman: Rising.

Geordie Joe

Suggestion - Dr. Who and the Daleks (1965) I know the Peter Cushing version of The Doctor is considered non-canon in the Whoniverse but it's still a fun movie to watch for any Doctor Who fan. Just think of it as an alternate reality version of The Doctor.

dapo313

Suggestion: The Grand Budapest Hotel

Thomas Corp

Yeah, she did. Latter part of 2022, as I recall. Great reaction. https://www.patreon.com/posts/grand-budapest-74947070

Lucas

Could be something for her to react to when she's finished Classic Who, think we'd all feel weird with no Doctor Who Fridays when she's done so anymore reactions/videos she can do after Survival the better

Geordie Joe

I'm kind of hoping that Jess does a full rewatch of series 1 with the 9th Doctor after her Classic Who reactions come to an end. It would be a nice way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her Doctor Who journey. Going back to where it all started in 2015.

Dave Hampton

Yeah, I agree with you all. Jess, I would be fine with you putting the rest of the Rocky series (at least the first 4) on the series poll and not putting Creed on the poll until the Rocky series wins or does not get the 20 votes. I know I requested a Creed reaction unless you had not seen Rocky (I think I said the series, but I may have not) then do Rocky first. Honestly you would be better off watching Creed without having seen Rocky at all than watching just the first Rocky and not continuing to at least Rocky 4. Without spoilers the characters have arcs and where they are at after Rocky one will not make sense if you watch Creed right after it. The Creed movie is of course made so one can watch without having seen Rocky, but a lot of nuances will be missed. It is not however made for someone who has seen just the first Rocky. It will be confusing. I hope that makes sense. Some may want more Rocky than just the first four. I will leave that up to others to debate. As always do what you think is best just giving you information.

Thomas Corp

The only one that you can skip and miss little to nothing is Rocky V, and that I am genuinely curious about what Jess would say on that one, her opinions. Especially given the reactions Jess had to what’s considered the weakest original series Star Trek films where she had a reasonably positive response, I would be interested to hear her thoughts on Rocky V. Rocky IV is my favorite of the bunch, so I definitely would be down to see her react to that one. You do kind of need to see Rocky Balboa before Creed as well as it addresses one very specific plot point that IS briefly brought up in Creed, but only in a perfunctory manner as it assumes the audience saw Balboa.

Ryan

Plus a certain cast member it'll be very interesting to see if she recognizes.

Ryan

Stallone himself was so dissatisfied with Five that he doesn't consider it canon, which is why it's so easily skipped in contrast to all the others.

Andrew Vignaux

Suggestion: "Time After Time" (1979) [The film not the later TV series]

Joe Crammond

curious to see how this poll turns out, all three of my votes are joint 3rd as i write this

Andrew Vignaux

I'd like to thank people for having some votes for my favorite Sam Neill film: "The Dish" - even though it's probably not available for streaming in the US. Well, it's not my favorite Sam Neill film with a submarine - that's another film. And it's not my favorite Sam Neill film with a dinosaur - that's yet another film (unless there's a Sam Neill film with a dinosaur AND a submarine). But, it is my favorite Sam Neill film overall.

Jenny Chalek

Come on, Godfather!

Ryan

Great to see Godfather doing so well, though it does beg the question, where the hell were all you people when the whole series was up? I guess they just wanted to protect her from number three.

Thomas Corp

It’s the explanation that makes the most sense. I’m going to say put the third one on the poll when Part II goes on and wins (Presumably. I mean, if the first one’s getting these numbers right out the gate, stands to reason the second one would too.) And I’m going to be very much in favor of a reaction to all three of the films, because I am so SICK of everyone on youtube that reacts to the first two then bows to public pressure to just skip the third one. I want to hear what Jess would have to say about all three of them.

DieWinterkirsche

I´d like to add "Blink Twice" and "Hush" to the next poll, please! :)

TokuBLWhovian

Suggestion - Better Man.

Mark McKeown

Game of Thrones: The Last Watch (Documentary)

DieWinterkirsche

Suggestions: - Companion - Hush - Blink Twice

Andrew Vignaux

For no particular reason, I thought of another film that might produce an interesting reaction. I doubt it will get many votes though. Dark Star (1974)
