You’re annoyed, and your patience is being tested, which, well, can’t help you much there, Jess. Hear the frustration of the refusal to listen to Maggie when the whole reason you brought her along was her expertise. Good on Perlie for trying to stand up for her. Narvaez very quickly gets on your shit list by threatening to hang Hershel. My own comment being, “Bitch, I don’t think you grasp what a severely BAD idea it is to make that threat to Maggie.” Loved how you endorsed Maggie punching her. We are liking how Ginny is stepping up. Worry for Hershel is strong, and yes, there are layers to that, like you said. We both clock that there’s some yet to be determined other reason for Hershel being there. The one big attack is quite something. Takes out the governor, and it seems to knock some sense into Narvaez. If nothing else, she didn’t protest to Maggie taking charge. Whether that’s simply she’s still in shock, or she is genuinely having a change of heart, we shall see on that. Get what you say of wanting to like Perlie. Maggie yelling at him for having the blind spot made me note, “Interesting take, Maggie, and how oblivious are we to our own description, I wonder?” Now to Negan’s story. Got the heart to sink hearing you like Victor. I know the Goya painting of Saturn devouring his offspring. Interesting to learn that you were not familiar with the painting though your reaction to it, and the Dama’s little lesson about it was quite something. Oh, I am loving seeing more of Željko as the Croat. I know you’re not as thrilled with the character, true, but Željko just kills it in this role, and you do give praise to him there, so that is lovely. Love how you give the Croat the advice of he’s going about rebuilding friendship with Negan in the wrong way. Jeffrey does well of though hating tapping back into his old ways, he is somewhat latching onto the idea that it’s only the New Babylon assholes, and he’s not too broken up about attacking them. Then he sees Maggie, Hershel, and Ginny, and he gets hit with everything there. Sadly, the Croat clocked his look, and it’s reported to the Dama. Awaiting more of the storyline with the historian guy. I kind of figured the Dama, you would not like her. Lisa is serving the energy of Angela Lansbury, Louise Fletcher, and Faye Dunaway all rolled into one as the Dama. Still kind of live for it, much though I do not begrudge you calling her “This bitch.” and later saying to her, “Fuck you so much.” as you did. I do love villainous excellence shining through via monologues. I do understand how you hold the feeling sometimes, where you just yell, “Oh, just shut the fuck up, and do it already.” I t hurt seeing your reaction to the Dama forcing Victor to play, and then when she killed him. All to punish Negan when Negan didn’t lie to the Dama: he saved a kid that was there who did not deserve to die. Since she doesn’t press the issue following her killing Victor, it seems that the subterfuge holds, for now. Pretty sick thing to do, whispering praise into the Croat’s ear when he doesn’t have the ear. Solid episode, and a lovely reaction, Jess, thank you.
