We both made a Carol comment in the beginning. You had yours, me, when the blood splattered over the picture frame, I said, “And there’s Carol.” Not yet seen the next episode, but your surmise that it’ll stress you out seems reasonable, and perhaps a forgone conclusion. We are on a similar page with the British Men of Letters plotline. We both wanted Ketch to fuck off when he started pressuring Mary to distance herself from her boys. Shared thing at this point of not exactly knowing where the plotline with the Brits is headed, but between their attitudes, words, actions, combined with certain historical allusions that the brain is connecting to them, I have a fairly good idea where it’s going. You spoke of how we assess their morals whilst living for Crowley and Rowena, making it perhaps difficult to assess morality. Which, well, you know my love of villains, so, yeah, I suppose I’m not one much to talk either, no. Funny your response to the one establishment advertising hot water. The Monty Python fellas would agree, given their stories about making Holy Grail. Good on Mary for getting the truth out in the open. The boys are less than pleased for reasons of as Sam says, getting shot, broken ribs, char broiled foot. And, you know, the, what was essentially rape, which, still not acknowledging that, are we, writers? No? Christ the writers need professional help. How they proceed, we’ll see how that goes. The catastrofuck is on the horizon, undoubtedly. Good update on Kelly. We both had the response to the angel posing as the waitress, my own comment being, “That “little Devil” was too on the nose to feel accidental.” And now we meet Dagon, played by Ali Ahn, good to see her. See you didn’t recognize her name in the credits. Not that that’s a bad thing, especially as it made the reaction better. Just surprising is all. Indeed, I loved the look on your face and the joy in your voice when you saw her appear here. You make the good note of Kelly, absent better options for help, she has little to no alternatives. Lucy seems to have sensed Dagon’s presence. Speaking of Lucy, yes, there is something nice to get back to the old good old, good old, as you describe. Alas, it’s not Tim Curry, but then again, he was never on this show, and even if he was, his stroke in 2012 would have prohibited him returning to it here, so, life’s always full of very sad and unfortunate circumstances. Bringing us to Gavin. Yeah, the ghost story took the turn. It already put me on edge that teachers were being targeted. Rowena being a grandma was sweet. Hell of a thing when they have to send Gavin back on the timey wimey of it all to prevent Fiona from going vengeful Swayze. Crowley was obviously against that. I got sidetracked by Crowley listing things that Gavin wants including Cubs tickets, as it made me say, “Wait, Crowley’s a Cubs fan? Holy shit!! All right, my man!” It also makes one curious what he’d say about the new Pope being a Sox fan. The plan is followed through, and it leads to Mark and Ruth having that absurdly great scene where Rowena makes it clear she did what she did in revenge for Crowley making her kill Oskar. Loved your reaction to that scene, Jess, and your reaction to this episode was equally great, much appreciated.
