Couldn’t really hear the lawn mowing in the background. Maybe a little bit, but it sounded more ambient rather than being too an obtrusive sound, so no worries. Interesting episode, as you say. Episodes opening with camping boding ominous is not strictly speaking a uniquely Supernatural thing, though I do concede that they excel with that more than most shows. Feel bad for the young couple. They were nice people. Love how there’s no real twist to anything. The hellhound just got loose and was attacking indiscriminately. Rather love how Crowley quietly showcases how he knows the boys at this point. By that I mean that he says the hellhound being loose was impossible, Dean asks if he’s sure on that, and you see Crowley clock Dean’s voice, thinking something like, “It doesn’t sound like he’s fucking with me.” leading to him inquiring to his minions about said hellhound. You spoke of Gwen’s reactions to the information. The young lady did just run with everything surprisingly well, yes. Later she breaks down some, and you and I assess that her response is perhaps the realistic one. Though it all sounds strange, you process and take it all in with minimal fuss. The boys and Crowley worked well together. Good on Sam for taking out the hellhound. Of course, we both knew that Sam was going to get shit from Dean about the car, though how well would Dean have done there, I wonder. I can’t drive, so I’d avoid the situation either way. Crowley is me when Gwen gives him the hug. Good to see Castiel on Kelly’s trail, particularly how he uses the Men in Black strategy of following the tabloids. Leads to the scene with the one guy who had a few screws loose. My one comment to his one line was, “Pretty sure that’s not what “woke” means.” Gave me a good laugh when you said that you felt like the guy was “a little past woke” as you put it. Your recognition of the one Angel made me pause, and ask, “Another guy from Bates Motel?” Looked it up and see that the guy’s from The Boys, and said, “Ah.” Hard to gauge his offer to Castiel at this time. Share your thing of the Winchesters being family to Castiel. Then there’s Crowley’s scenes of proving that he is indeed ten steps ahead, loved your assessment on that. Poor Lucy getting the hope from the two sycophants. Quick thing: loved your reaction to the one demon who had the desire to “Make Hell Great Again”. I had a similar look as you had, saying, “...Nope. Not touching that one.” The same demon, you know he’s cuckoo when even Lucy expresses that he thinks you’re weird. Mark delivered in that scene of Crowley demonstrating the trap that Lucy was put in. God, I loved your reaction there, Jess. You’re probably accurate about this being a seesaw situation. We both assess Crowley the same that overconfident though he can be, he’s not stupid. Looking forward to more of his plotline this season. Then there’s the thing that overshadowed the episode for you. Sam shooting straight with Dean about working with the Brits. We both had the strong pride in Sam there, and there is the pride for Dean actually listening, conceding that Sam did have a good point, and he now agrees to work with the Brits too. Good on him to make it clear that he’s still not happy about it, and we both really love the boys agreeing that the second something smells rotten in the state of Denmark, they bail on the Brits. Adored your reaction to all of that, Jess. Other quick notes, we agree on the words to Dean to shower. And what kind of sick bastard wears the same underwear for four days straight!? I can’t tell what’s the sicker thing to do, wearing the same pair of shorts for four days straight, or turning them inside out like Dean says he did. Either way, we and Sam are most emphatic about Dean showering on that one. I REALLY want to smack Dean on that one. Love how you looked much like you held a similar thought. Bringing us to Lucille. Yeah, I saw that, and I KNEW that you’d have the reaction to Lucille. To answer your one question, this episode was not yet a year after Negan had that infamous traumatizing scene if I have the dates right. So, the reference is very much deliberate. Again, greatly appreciated the reaction, Jess, thanks.
