It's me, Colin. Please welcome Matty of Defining Duke fame to Sacred+ for a one-on-one conversation all about Bloober's recent survival horror release, Cronos. The reality is this: We both loved the game, and we're sad it's not selling more. So we thought we'd do our part in breaking down this surprising alternate history-slash-period thriller, both for those who played it and those interested in learning more (though you should keep in mind that -- as always -- we spoil the heck out of everything here). There's something special at the center of New Dawn; indeed, it's both a familiar title and one that draws from so much around it, that it's all quite novel and unique, even in an industry flooded with options. So without further ado, it's time to learn more about what happens when you smush Dead Space, Parasite Eve, Singuarity, The Evil Within, and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture into one shockingly cohesive, cogent package.

Its my Game of the Year. And I absolutely loved Expedition 33 and Death Stranding 2. Its so disappointing that the game is selling poorly.

Great game… hope it has long legs so we get another but I am not hopeful.

I feel like I should finish Dead Space Remake before playing this.

Just completed the game as well, absolutely loved it. Only nitpick for me is the lead up to the final boss. It felt like they just kept throwing waves & waves of enemies at you. It started to feel a little tedious. But once you face the final boss it goes back on track. One of the best games of the year thus far.

This episode and yesterday's sacred haven't shown up on my pocket casts app. Anyone else?

Madsines

Easily one of the best games of the year and the best new survival horror IP in years. Bloober cooked here

I love choice based games, that is why I think the Banner Saga is easily one of the best franchises of the post 2000s era.

I’m not sure if Matty read these, but I will say that as somebody who deals in rare and expensive toys for a living… People do absolutely donate insanely rare things to Goodwill all the time. You would be surprised how ignorant people are of the value of their things. We constantly have walk-ins in our store where we have offered thousands of dollars for something that somebody thought they would only get a few dollars for. Cincinnati Goodwill‘s are Primo hunting grounds for rare toys given the history of the toy company that used to be here. We’ve found everything from prototypes and unreleased toys to dead men carded and sealed Star Wars product. Though, #ColinWasRight… a lot of times goodwill does catch them in the sort process and list them for auction on their website to get real money out of them.

I feel like I’m on a different timeline. I finish the game with four weapons, one of each type lol

Jam

What sort of prototypes and unreleased toys?

Not one mention of 12 Monkeys which was the inspiration for the game. I found this out because I was feeling vibes from that movie and there’s articles about it. The endings make more sense if you’ve seen that movie. A lot of the plot points discussed make more sense if you’ve seen that movie.
