Now: Guillermo's Frankenstein. Coming soon in January: Christian Bale's will play the Creature in The Bride. It's a good time to be a Frankenstein fan! Jacob's performance deserves at least a nomination.

If they get the opportunity to, they should definitely check the Sci Fi thriller "In Time" with Justin Timberlake. I feel like if they haven't seen it yet, they'd enjoy it for sure.

I loved this movie. I actually think I like it more than the original work. In the novel, Victor urges the captain to continue with his voyage, which I always saw as him never learning anything from anything he did. He and the Creature also never reunite at the end. Victor is dead by the time the Creature catches up to him and he decides to burn with his body. I like what Guillermo did with this story more and all the choices he made. I also really love the continued theme of reverence to the natural world. Elizabeth sees purity and beauty in things that most people see as loathsome like insects. And when the Creature ends up in the forest, animals that would flee from a human aren't scared of him at all. They sense his pure heart just like Elizabeth did.

Nowhere Man

What's most interesting, to me, is that this isn't actually a "monster movie", relative to how monster-horror stories are typically told. This is a gorgeous, poetic, character study that peels away the many layers of what it means to be alive, as well as the consequences of the choices we make about how we live and how we treat each other. Whereas Deadpool makes you cry with uncontrollable laughter about the pain of immortality, this movie makes you cry with overwhelming sorrow and dread about the pain of immortality. As M3GAN said, "This is the part where you run."
