It's funny how he thinks he's somehow protecting his cover story while dropping glaringly obvious hints that everything about his backstory is a lie to everyone he talks to. Does he genuinely think his name is the important secret rather than all the training and talents he has?

I could imagine Dora eventually having to actually claim Kai as her hidden son to avoid Kai getting his head put on a pike by the Republic. She likely viewed him as something akin to her son back in the archipelago, so it’s not much of a stretch in that sense.
