...actually offered the thieving bandits that were willing to murder a little kid over a rock a place in the sect, I just don't understand the thought process there.

Kynan

They were never going to kill the kid, that's why I wrote it as the older brother going in for a slap

Big Lumpy Beetle

Well, somebody needs to carry rocky around ... And besides, sect life is full of rules, those guys will hate it with a passion, and that could be funny

Kynan

They do, it's in the next chapter. For mortal servants, there's no payment but cultivators is a different story especially a 7th stage

John 'the Flud' Douglas, Deadlock Pakistan Wrestling Worlds Champion

Between the two (former) bandits I think I like Zhao Yu more than Xing. The latter strikes me as being too clever by half and the type of idiot that'll get you killed in a hair brained 'get rich quick' scheme while Yu's caution and common sense is far more warranted. And I believe Yu is a 6th Stage, so its not as if he has *no* talent either. That said I think unfortunately Yu has been doomed by the narrative to be always shown up by Xing, if the constant references to him being 'servile' and 'a coward' are anything to go by. Its a shame really because I think he could go farther than Xing.

Kynan

My answer about both of them would be character development. The POV is mainly on Ke Yin but we'll see them around. I don't want to say anymore to not spoil anything

Apoca

Well, I don't think Ke Yin is in trouble. He advanced 2 stages while outside. The other two on the other hand...

This might be the scene where they discover his demonic and holy qi from the story description. The next chapter or 3
