Propose Edit Within moments, standing before me wasn’t the elderly “merchant, no it was” a man who appeared to be in his mid or late thirties. “Merchant, no, it was” should punctuate better?

Vincent Mason

I mean, of course he'll accept. What other choice does he have?

Daniel

Sounds like we have the 2nd elder training montage coming up lol

Author, I believe the foreshadow that THIS elder in particular is a formation expert should be introduced with the character, or before Mc deciding to learn formation(which he explicitly talk with Azure only a few chapters back). Because after Mc choose to learn formation, this elder then was introduced to know formation with papers in his quarter, is a bit too “coincidental”. Why wouldn’t he know alchemy or something else? If you introduced foreshadowing before MC choose so, MORE explicitly, would make it less plot armour. (I know you alr make it so elder used concealment formation in the market, but still, this seem too coincidental THIS elder would have exactly what mc needs) It could probably reduce the sense of plot armour by the drunk elder be some alchemy expert and have a friend or book about formation, ngl that would be smoother

Hmm yeah I’m not sure what is meant by will he take the deal. This seems like a win - win for sure. Maybe he’ll try to negotiate for more?

I think it was foreshadowed previously, but may have just been a bit clumsily done and easily overlooked. Ke Yin specifically went to him because he “artificially” creates essences. Based on this chapter, I assume the only way to do that is with formations?

At this point Ke Yin should ask, "You know about my interest in formations so I guess you also know about the soul expert bringing people back to life?" I know the Harry Potter style of keeping secrets from the adults works for children's books but in real life it's just bad decision-making.

You make a good point, but bad decision making is a constant of real life as well.
